The MBLC and the Massachusetts Library System (MLS) co-sponsor the Commonwealth eBook Collections (CEC), a library-driven program working to give Massachusetts patrons easy access to a shared collection of eBooks. Together, we hope to improve user experience, to expand choices for libraries in the marketplace, and to build a large shared statewide collection that breaks down barriers to resource sharing.

Residents can easily access the CEC and the other ways of getting eBooks (listed below) through the consumer portal.

The Boston Public Library offers all residents of Massachusetts use of its electronic resources. Residents will need to sign up for a BPL eCard to get started.

Biblioboard is available to all Massachusetts residents. Patrons can instantly read graphic novels and DIY books, find historical documents, and self-publish.

Residents can browse and borrow eBooks from their home library network's eBook collection.
